What Separates A Signed Case From A Wasted Lead

Loss amount alone doesn't qualify a claim in this docket. The cases moving forward are built on VIP program contact, deposit escalation records, and self exclusion requests the operator ignored. A campaign that screens for losses and nothing else hands your intake team volume they'll throw away.

Why This Docket? Why Now?

A Docket Still Taking Shape
More than 80 sports betting addiction suits have been filed since February 2025, spread across Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, Kentucky, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts and California. The JPML has not created an MDL, so there is no consolidated docket setting the pace and no established inventory leaders. Firms building claim volume during this window set their acquisition costs before the market crowds.
Courts Are Letting Claims Through
On November 25, 2025, Judge Gettleman in the Northern District of Illinois allowed deception claims over DraftKings' "risk free" promotions to proceed. Judge Chesler in New Jersey reached the same conclusion six days earlier. In November 2025 Baltimore's public nuisance case was sent back to state court, where the city wants it. A Third Circuit appeal filed April 17, 2026 challenges the ruling that sportsbooks owe no duty of care to at risk players, the single question that decides how wide this docket opens.
The Theory Of Liability Got Sharper
The March 2026 complaint in Philadelphia against DraftKings, FanDuel, the NFL and Genius Sports names five individual VIP hosts as defendants, the first time that's happened in an online gambling case. It pleads product liability and design defect around microbetting rather than gambling loss recovery, which is the framing that survives the statutes operators have hidden behind for years. Regulators are moving alongside it, with courts in New York and Washington backing state gambling authority against prediction market operators in July 2026.

FAQ

Common Questions From Firms

Yes. Every lead we generate for your sports betting docket is built around your firm's criteria and reserved exclusively for you. Never sold to a shared pool.
Cost depends on your criteria, your budget, and how competitive your market is. We've run several campaigns in this litigation, so the quote you get is built on what acquisition actually costs here rather than an estimate. Book a discovery call and we'll walk you through it.
That's the reason to build now. Filings crossed 80 since February 2025, two federal courts have already let deception claims past the pleadings, and a Third Circuit ruling on duty of care is pending. Consolidation brings organized leadership and a crowded acquisition market with it. Costs rarely improve once that happens.
Firms are screening for losses above $50,000, a documented gambling disorder or mental health treatment tied to the betting period, and evidence the operator kept pushing after the problem was visible. VIP host contact, deposit match offers, ignored account closure requests and bets placed underage or outside a legal state all strengthen a claim. We screen to whatever criteria your firm sets.
Some. A Pennsylvania federal judge dismissed a five plaintiff case in March 2026 on the ground that sportsbooks owe no duty of care, and the Third Circuit reached a similar result in a New Jersey case in 2025. The complaints filed since have moved away from gambling loss recovery toward product liability, design defect and state consumer protection claims. That's the framing courts have let through.
More than 73% of people who contacted the national problem gambling helpline in 2025 named financial struggle as the reason. These are young men describing debt, borrowing and losses they haven't told anyone about. Our screening is built for that conversation, because the first contact decides whether they trust your firm enough to keep talking.
Every major operator has one, and it's the first thing defense counsel reaches for. Firms handling this docket build around it, and it's worth settling your position before you spend on acquisition. We'll build the campaign to whatever criteria that decision produces.
